Manotick Community Church is seeking a part time Pastor to be a part of our church!

 

Location: Manotick, Ontario, Canada

 

Church Profile

We are a small, Christ-centred evangelical church serving Manotick and the surrounding rural communities. Our congregation values faithful biblical teaching, meaningful worship, prayer, and strong relational community.

 

We are part of the Ontario Mennonite Brethren Conference (ONMB)

and align with its statement of faith and values.

 

We believe God is at work in our church and community, and we are prayerfully seeking a pastor who feels called to invest in a close-knit congregation with opportunity for meaningful

spiritual impact and growth.

 

Position Summary

The Part-Time Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and guidance for the church within a part-time capacity. This role is well-suited to a bivocational pastor or someone called to serve in a smaller church setting.

 

Our church is board-led, and the pastor will serve in collaboration with the Board and ministry volunteers, contributing to the spiritual health and direction of the congregation within this leadership structure.

 

Time Commitment

                Approximately 10–20 hours per week, based on mutual agreement

                Primary responsibilities centred around Sunday worship and key pastoral needs

                Schedule is flexible and can accommodate bivocational commitments

                Occasional evenings and weekends as required (e.g., meetings, pastoral care)

 

The church is committed to aligning responsibilities with agreed hours to support a healthy and sustainable ministry rhythm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Preaching & Worship

Prepare and deliver biblically faithful, Christ-centred sermons

Oversee Sunday worship services and ordinances (communion and baptism)

Collaborate with worship leaders and ministry volunteers

 

Pastoral Care

         Provide pastoral care, prayer, and spiritual guidance to congregants

Officiate weddings and funerals as available

Offer support during times of illness, grief, and crisis

 

Discipleship & Ministry Support

Encourage spiritual growth through Bible studies, prayer, and small groups

Support and equip lay leaders and volunteers

Participate in discipleship opportunities appropriate to part-time hours

 

Leadership & Collaboration

Work in partnership with the church Board

Contribute to vision, planning, and spiritual direction of the church

Foster unity and healthy communication within the congregation

 

Community Presence

Be visible and relational within the Manotick community as time allows

Encourage outreach, evangelism, and service initiatives

 

Qualifications:

Spiritual & Personal

A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling to pastoral ministry

Demonstrates spiritual maturity, integrity, humility, and a shepherd’s heart

Affirms evangelical beliefs and is willing to align with the ONMB statement of faith

Lives consistently with biblical values

 

Education & Experience

Theological training (Bible college, seminary, or equivalent) 

Minimum of 2 years of pastoral or relevant ministry experience 

Experience in a small or part-time church setting is an asset

Strong preaching, communication, and relational skills

Other

Comfortable serving in a part-time or bivocational role

Able to work independently while collaborating with church leadership

Legally eligible to work in Canada

 

Future Opportunity

There is potential for this role to grow into a full-time position as the congregation grows and ministry needs expand.

 

Compensation

Compensation commensurate with experience, hours, and congregation size
