Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13
Paul tells us to stand firm in the full armour of God. Only then can we withstand what comes against us. Paul should know, he was beset with troubles from inside and outside, suffered greatly for the Gospel, withstood opposition from Jews and Gentiles, was flogged and imprisoned many times. How could he withstand such buffeting? He stood in the armour of God and did not rely on his own strength. Paul stood in the truth of his salvation, trusting only in Christ's finished work on the cross.
How well do you know the salvation you stand in? Is it only hope for when you die, or is the victory of the cross and the power of the Holy Spirit for you now - today? Put on the full armour that you may withstand the evil that comes today. And having done all - STAND.
