John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came to restore peace, firstly between God and people, then between peoples and the whole of creation. The Hebrew for peace is shalom. It's more than the absence of conflict, it means completeness or wholeness. There is a sense of stillness and rest that accompanies shalom because it is complete. Are your heart and mind, still and at rest? Or has your shalom broken down? Pray for peace, and do not let your hearts be troubled.
