Lest We Forget - PB#40

"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

1 Tim. 2:1-2. (NIV)

Paul was a peacemaker. When Christians were being persecuted, he urged Timothy to pray for those that were confiscating their possessions and homes. We must also pray for peace as it is getting increasingly more difficult to live a Biblically faithful life in the public sphere.

Remembrance Day, we gather to remember those that gave their lives for our peace and freedom. We also remember that Jesus gave his life for the peace of the world and taught his followers to be peacemakers and follow a way of radical love.

Bonus Message

Of all Jesus' teaching, Peacemaking might be the hardest of all, but it will mark us as being "children of God."
