When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” 5. Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
When I read this account of the miracle catch, I can't help but think in terms of soul winning. In fact, Jesus went on to tell Peter that from then on, He would teach Peter to be a fisher of Men. What strikes me is the secondary plot. The catch was so large, Peter called for his partners to help in the effort or the catch and the nets would be lost.
In order to bring in the harvest of souls, we need to have strategic partnerships with others. We in turn are able to help them when we are called on. Strategic kingdom partnerships is how we maximize our efforts and bring about win-win scenarios.
As a church in the City we partner with One Way Ministries. We partner with Church Renewal in discipleship and leadership development. This year we are partnering more intentionally with Camp Cherith to see a harvest among our youth and provide opportunities to fellowship and grow as a church outside of Sunday.
Pray for the leadership of One Way Ministries as they work toward greater unity and ministry in the citywide church. Pray for provision as each Ministry Leader raises their own funds.
Pray for Church Renewal to increase their global reach in training Pastors and Leaders in renewal practices, develop discipleship material like Abide and Grow Character. Pray for provision as CR offers all their material and training free of charge.
Pray for Camp Cherith Staff and volunteers as they present the Gospel to kids and youth including some from our Church. Pray that many kids make decisions for Christ and move closer in their relationship with God.
Pray for the Family Weeks at Camp Cherith in the Summer where we have an opportunity to go, receive ministry and have fun and fellowship.
Lift up Joey Molloy and his family as they work over the Summer to see kids come to Christ and Trains Youth Pastors through the Implementa program.
Pray for Encounter Youth and our Leaders, Matt Milley and Hope Ballinger who are being trained and mentored by Joey this year. Pray that God would fill them with His Holy Spirit, give them capacity to juggle leading and University.
Pray for the partnership between MCC and Camp Cherith as we both work toward ministry to families and youth together and support each other.
Come along to the War Room on Sunday at 3pm down in the Church basement, where we will be having a special celebration prayer and praise to mark the end of our corporate month of fasting and prayer.
